Just came back from the forum on the homophobic vandalism on campus. Really touching things said by a couple of my friends. I said some of the same stuff I may have mentioned to a friend of mine. About how I can’t seem to escape discrimination, no matter the target. How I was hesitant to place blame on the authorities because I don’t know how to react to this or whether It’s too late or early to act. I also reacted to a straw effigy that says we might be weak for being affected by this “small thing”. I say nothing is invincible. Big things have always been brought down by small things. Dollar Store blades brought down two towers.

I also talked to friends afterword about a potential solution. Here it is.

If all orientations stop seeing sexual orientation as a gender role and rather as a prefrence, the percieved threat to gender norms will be marginalized.
