Just got back from Watchmen. Have a few thoughts
- Laurie was too underdeveloped as a character, It might be either the actress or stuff that was cut. Perhaps it was both.
- The soundtrack selections sounded out of place for what was going on.
- No alien squid? wtf!!
- Lot more gore than the comic and more than what I was prepared for. Seems like they put that in just for slasher fans.
- Grow up you morons. Its a blue dong. Just paint your own thing blue and have a chuckle?
- Never got a lot out of Black Freighter anyway. I don’t mind that it didn’t get mentioned
- Will watch Director’s Cut.
- Will watch again at Dallas IMAX. Done! The audio-video was much more enthralling
- Will read again after I’m done lending it out. Anyone want to borrow it after the current borrower?
All in all, Watchmen was an enjoyable movie. It’s not Alan Moore’s comic by a long shot (nor should it be) but it manages to be a great movie.
