Comicon 2010: News of World War Z

Let me put something out there at first, I loathe most recent cultural narratives about zombies and pity my hipster peers who cite The Zombie Survival Guide as a favorite book. Much of the cultural prestige of a zombie invasion is predicated on adolescent male fantasy and objectivist survivalism.

Having said that, World War Z was pretty good. The book's concept was an oral history of perspectives on a hypothetical global zombie outbreak. The perspectives brought a very diverse political and cultural color that is difficult to do in multiple-perspective literature.

Which Is why I'm excited about news from Comic-Con about a feature film based on the book World War Z. I only hope that  Hollywood can keep the colorful perspectives in the film.
