This week, I wrote a post about Norwegian bands to listen to after the viral success if Ylvis’ song. “The Fox” (What does the fox say?).
Growing up in the Minneapolis/St.Paul metro area, with its established Norwegian-American community, I learned a bit about Norwegian culture in school including their cuisine, folk tales, and the Danish vowels that Norwegians use. I was also fascinated to know that there is a small but prosperous Pakistani community in Norway. A few years ago, I encountered a Scandinavian store in Plano called Wooden Spoon, which brought a bit of nostalgia for my Midwestern upbringing. In this spirit, I though I would give Norwegian musicians credit for their contribution to pop music.
