I’d like some other suggestions.
British Graphic Novels: What to say about American comics? Hmm. How about, they never end and they progress so slowly (even the notoriously long Japanese show Dragon Ball series ended after 20 years). The only American comic that had any progression in it was Green Lantern, and they screwed that up when they brought back Hal Jordan. Unfortunately, Alan Moore’s works have the tendency of being mutated into films that barely resemble thier original form. But writers like Warren Ellis and Grant Morrison write stories where characters actually develop in a short period of time an the stories eventually come to an end.
John La Carre: It says a lot when your arch-protagonist spy is an aging, fat man that has trouble with women. It bears mentioning that this spy has been portrayed by none other than the OG Obi-Wan Alec Guiness. Sure beats the misogynist and racist drivel from Ian Fleming.
Question Time: You have to love a tv show where common people can bitch at their leaders instead of caricatures of society’s ills like in American talk shows. No, opinionated black woman,. Quit bitching at that that transvestite, racist, juvinile delinquant who cheats on his wife with his dog. Start critisizing at the men who are keeping you down.
British Humor: I know it’s on their list, and I know for sure they wouldn’t have it on if they saw Garth Mahrengi’s Darkplace or Mighty Boosh. Even if British comedies have the devil known as Laugh Tracks, it’s a bit delayed so you can form your own taste of humor instead of laughing or ohhing on demand.
